The Cupertino's Teen Commission together with the Cupertino Recreation Department is hosting <hack> Cupertino, a hackathon designed to solve a problem presented during our Opening Ceremony. Normally held as a 13-hour overnight hackathon, we are now bringing the hackathon to YOU. We originally created this hackathon as a way for teens to destress, socialize, and flex their coding skills. Our goals are still the same, but you can now do it all in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace.

Eligibility

  • 13-18* years old. 18-year-old guests must be in high school.
  • We won't be able to verify if registrants are in high school at the time of submission, but we will be looking at your video submissions, project details, and will be requiring school IDs during t-shirt and prize pick-up.

Requirements

Submission

All submissions to the hackathon must be submitted to Devpost before 11:45 om Saturday, July 25th. No exceptions. Please remember to include your code and video as these two submissions will be used by our judges during their evaluation. The video must include a demo of your app. Slideshow is optional but may help.

Tips for your video:

  • Double check that your video can be accessed users with the link. Sometimes Google and YouTube links will be broken or ask the user to "request access" as the video will be set to private.
  • Film in a well-lit area.
  • Give yourself enough time to complete the video.
